FM Bilawal felicitates Hakan Fidan on his appointment as Turkiye’s FM

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has extended his warm congratulations to Hakan Fidan on his appointment as the Foreign Minister of Turkiye.

In a tweet, the Foreign Minister expressed his desire to work closely with his Turkish counterpart in taking the Pak-Turkiye strategic partnership to ever greater heights.

Pakistan committed to protect rights of minorities: Masood

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Masood Khan says the Pakistan is committed to protecting rights of minorities and provides them with an enabling environment to contribute towards socio-economic development and nation-building process

Addressing faith and community leaders at Pakistan House Washington he said that the strong bonds of humanity bind us all together.

The faith leaders comprised Muslims, Christians, Hindus and Sikhs.

The Ambassador said while we maintain our religious beliefs and identities, we have to work collectively, as one community, for the larger national interests and projecting true image of Pakistan.

Masood Khan called for the need to build on commonalities among faiths and to work together to promote inter-faith harmony.

The Ambassador appreciated the services of faith and community leaders including Ilyas Masih, Raj Rathore and others who have been making efforts not only to unite communities but also towards bringing US and Pakistan together through people to people contacts and exchanges.

President All Neighbors International Ilyas Masih thanked the Ambassador for providing a platform to all faiths and communities and also facilitating people-to-people exchanges.

Patron in Chief Pakistan Sikh Council Sardar Ramesh Singh Khalsa said that the commitment of the Government of Pakistan towards protection of rights enabled minorities to lead their lives according to the vision of the Founder of the nation.

The leaders said the Embassy of Pakistan is presenting a practical manifestation of vision of the Quaid for Pakistan.

Azam Nazir emphasizes need for life-long education among lawyers fraternity

Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Azam Nazir has emphasized the need for life-long education among lawyers fraternity through the provision of continued professional education.

He was addressing closing ceremony of the teacher training workshop for law faculty members entitled "Designing and Teaching Effective Law Courses for Legal Academics" in Islamabad on Sunday.

Law Minister appreciated the intent and design of the workshop and the collective experience and expertise of the participants.

May-9 culprits deserve no concession: Tasneem Qureshi

Minister of State for Industries and Production Tasneem Ahmad Qureshi has said elections would be held on time in the country.

Talking to APP, he said Pakistan People's Party is fully prepared to contest elections and it would win with majority in upcoming elections.

He said the elements involved in burning of the government properties and defence installations on May 9 deserve no concession.

He said peaceful protest is the constitutional right of every citizen, but what was done by the PTI workers was intolerable.

Hajj-2023: 40,000 Pakistani intending pilgrims arrive in Saudi Arabia

Over 40000 Pakistani intending pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia through 158 different flights.

Radio Pakistan's correspondent Javed Iqbal reports from Makkah, that out of these 13095 have arrived in Makkah after completing their eight-day stay at Madinah while others have been accommodated in Madinah Munawwarah.

These numbers also include 1000 hajj pilgrims who arrived in Saudi Arabia under private hajj scheme through 18 hajj group operators.

According to the spokesperson of Ministry of Religious Affairs, Muhammad Umar Butt the Ministry's monitoring team has completed the assessment of 12 hajj group operators.

He said arrangements are being made to provide the sacrifice coupons for the pilgrims at their accommodations.

Umar Butt said 522 Moavineen including medical mission is present in Saudi Arabia to assist pilgrims in every possible manner.

Out of these 334 are deputed at Makkah, 172 at Madinah while 19 at Jeddah Airport.

It is pertinent to mention that this is first full force Hajj after 2019 in which around 17,9,000 Pakistani pilgrims will participate.

On the other hand, Secretary Religious Affairs Dr Aftab Akbar Durrani has said Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has made exemplary arrangements for pilgrims in Saudi Arabia aimed to improve the image of Pakistan. Talking to APP, he said Pakistani pilgrims have also demonstrated resilience in the face of difficult circumstances.

Pakistan Hajj mission sets up toll-free call center in Makkah to assist intending pilgrims

Pakistan Hajj Mission has established a toll-free call center in Makkah to facilitate Pakistani intending pilgrims for the resolution of their complaints promptly and effectively.

Radio Pakistan correspondent Javed Iqbal reports from Makkah that the intending pilgrims can lodge complaints on five exclusive telephone lines by dialing 0567117032, 0567119580, 0567117063, 0567117063, or 0567119548.

It is pertinent to mention that a group of 10 individuals has been working in shifts of 12 hours each at the center to address intending pilgrim’s complaints.
