Govt focusing on long-term solution to problems: Kaira

Advisor to the Prime Minister on Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that country is facing hardships due to wrong policies of the previous government.

Talking to a private news channel, he said opposing budget by opposition is a routine matter.

The Advisor said the government is not looking for short-term solution, but for a long-term, to save the country from default.

He said direct taxation is necessary and government is focusing to manufacture products in the country rather than importing them.

Pakistan Railways announces to run three special trains on Eid

Pakistan Railways has announced to run three special trains on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha to facilitate the passengers.

The spokesperson of Pakistan railways said that the first Eid special train will leave from Quetta to Peshawar on Friday at 10 a.m.

The second special train will leave Karachi for Lahore on Friday, while the third Eid special train from Lahore to Karachi on 13th of this month.

PM orders immediate suspension of illegal FED at airports

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken strict notice of illegal collection of Federal Excise Duty worth 50,000 rupees from passengers at the airports.

Expressing strong displeasure at collection of Federal Excise Duty, he directed that the illegal order to collect federal excise duty at the airports should be immediately revoked and the practice of causing trouble to the passengers should be discontinued immediately.

The Prime Minister also ordered investigation into the collection of federal excise duty.

He said it should be investigated as to how the excise duty was collected from the passengers without approval of the cabinet.

Shehbaz Sharif instructed the Finance Minister that after an immediate inquiry, strict action under the law should be taken against those responsible for the illegal act. He said those who inflicted suffering on the passengers had no right to hold their posts.

The Prime Minister asked the Finance Minister to return the money to the passengers from whom federal excise duty was collected. Shehbaz Sharif called for immediate implementation of his orders and submission of report after action against the persons responsible.
