WWF Celebrates Student’s Historic Gold Medal Achievement at International Biology Olympiad

Islamabad: A special ceremony was held in Islamabad to honour Abdul Rafay, a student sponsored by the Workers Welfare Fund, who made history by winning Pakistan's first gold medal at the 36th International Biology Olympiad in the Philippines.

According to Radio Pakistan, Secretary Workers Welfare Fund, Zulfiqar Ahmed, presented a commemorative shield to Abdul Rafay during the ceremony. He praised Rafay's achievement as a realization of the vision set by Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Chaudhry Salik Hussain. Ahmed highlighted that the gold medal represents progress towards the international stature envisioned by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of the Army Staff.

Zulfiqar Ahmed reiterated the commitment of the Workers Welfare Fund to the educational and social development of workers' families. He emphasized that the fund is dedicated to supporting such initiatives that contribute to the growth and development of future generations.

Abdul Rafay expressed his gratitude to the Workers Welfare Fund administration for their support. He dedicated his gold medal to his late father, Abdul Basit, who was an employee of WWF, acknowledging his father's influence and encouragement in his academic journey.
