Islamabad: World Waterfowl Day is being observed today.
According to Radio Pakistan, the day focuses on raising awareness about waterfowl and their wetland habitat. The waterfowl group includes more than 170 species of ducks, geese, and swans. Of these, twelve species are currently considered endangered or critically endangered in the wild.
Efforts on this day aim to educate the public and emphasize the importance of preserving these species and their natural habitats. Conservationists stress the need for protective measures and sustainable practices to ensure the survival of these vital members of the ecosystem.
