World Bank President and Sindh CM Inspect Flood Housing Project in Larkana

Larkana: President of the World Bank, Ajay Banga, along with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, visited the homes constructed for individuals affected by floods in Dokri, Larkana.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Sindh Chief Minister briefed Ajay Banga on the reconstruction efforts for 145 houses, a project supported by the World Bank. He highlighted that 83% of the ownership rights for these homes were allocated to women, promoting social inclusion through this initiative.

Murad Ali Shah also informed that an additional 2.1 million houses are currently under construction to accommodate flood victims. During the visit, President Banga expressed satisfaction with the progress and commended the project, describing it as the first community-led housing program of its kind.
