Islamabad: The inaugural direct flight of Uzbekistan Airways from Tashkent to Islamabad has landed at Islamabad International airport. This new route is expected to enhance connectivity between the two capitals, marking a significant step in the aviation sector.
According to Radio Pakistan, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, Alisher Tukhtaev, emphasized that the launch of Uzbekistan Airways’ direct flight will significantly strengthen economic and trade ties between Uzbekistan and Pakistan. He noted that the new air link will reduce the distance between the people of the two countries, facilitating easier interaction and collaboration.
Tukhtaev further stated that this direct air connection represents a strategic advancement in bilateral relations and is in line with the broader goals of the Central and South Asia Connectivity Initiatives. The initiative aims to foster greater regional integration and cooperation.
Managing Director PTDC, Aftab Rana, highlighted that the commencement of this weekly flight between Tashkent and Islamabad is an important milestone in strengthening air connectivity between the two brotherly nations. This development is anticipated to pave the way for increased tourism, business exchanges, and mutual understanding between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
