Use of Loudspeakers Except for Azan, Friday Sermons Prohibited in ICT


Islamabad: The district administration of Islamabad has prohibited the use of loudspeakers, sound amplifiers, and sound systems, except for Azan and Friday sermons, within the territorial limits of the federal capital.



According to Radio Pakistan, multiple orders issued by Additional District Magistrate Islamabad Sahibzada Muhammad Yousaf have strictly prohibited the use of cassette players, sound systems, CD, DVD players, and other mediums for delivering objectionable or sectarian-related speeches and sermons in the Islamabad Capital Territory.



The use of rough papers containing holy words or Quranic verses, including newspapers for wrapping, packaging, or preserving commodities, is also banned.



The administration has further prohibited the stocking, sale, purchase, and use of crackers and fireworks. Carrying, displaying, or exhibiting firearms is forbidden for all individuals except members of the armed forces, Pakistan Rangers, police, and paramilitary forces.



Additionally, all types of boating are banned in Rawal Dam and Simly Dam.



The illegal sale, purchase, unsafe storage, and buying of petrol at agencies located in different areas of Islamabad is prohibited. Similarly, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles and the extraction of stones through blasting or crushing in the district are banned.



The distribution of handbills, pamphlets, posters, and wall chalking intended to offend religious sects or segments of society is not permitted. Moreover, all gatherings of five or more persons, processions, and demonstrations within the revenue limits of Islamabad are prohibited.



The administration has also banned the accumulation of fresh water in scrap yards and the unauthorized display or storage of tires. Residential and commercial buildings, as well as public facilities, are prohibited from allowing water to accumulate in containers, grounds, or artificial structures where it may become a breeding ground for mosquitoes.



All these prohibitions shall remain in force for two months.
