Uniformed Prayer, Azaan Timings in Rawalpindi, Islamabad to Begin Soon: Yousuf

Islamabad: Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousuf says implementation of "Uniformed Prayer and Azaan Timings" in Rawalpindi and Islamabad will begin soon. Addressing a consultative meeting in Islamabad today, he said once the uniformed Azaan and prayer timings are implemented in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, its impact will reach all four provinces, including Gilgit-Baltistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, during the meeting, prominent scholars from all schools of thought, esteemed Mashaikh, and representatives of the business community held a comprehensive discussion regarding 'Nizam-e-Salat' and decided that a uniformed Azaan and prayer calendar will also be issued soon to begin formal implementation.

President of the Central Organization of Traders Pakistan, Chaudhry Kashif, affirmed that Islamabad's business community is ready to observe voluntary shop closures for prayers following the Azaan.
