Umar Farooq Urges India to Reassess Its Approach Toward Kashmiris

Srinagar: In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has voiced concerns over the plight of the Kashmiri people, highlighting the distress caused by the loss of their internal autonomy in August 2019. Addressing the Friday congregation at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, Umar Farooq emphasized the need for the Indian government to reevaluate its approach towards Kashmiris.

According to Radio Pakistan, the senior leader expressed that the continuous raids, arrests, confiscation of properties, and dismissal of employees, coupled with the suspension of all fundamental rights, have exacerbated the sense of frustration among the Kashmiri populace. He extended his condolences for the loss of innocent lives in the recent New Delhi blast and criticized the hasty attribution of such incidents to specific religions or communities without established facts.

In a related development, Indian troops have reportedly engaged in a fresh act of state terrorism by demolishing a residential house in Pulwama district. The targeted house belonged to Dr. Umar Nabi, an assistant professor at Al-Falah University in Faridabad, Haryana. The demolition took place during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. Indian government agencies have linked Dr. Nabi to a car explosion in the Delhi blast.

Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter organized a prayer meeting to honor the legacy of Muhammad Hanif Kalas, a notable leader of the Kashmir freedom movement and Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Pir Panjal Peace Foundation, on his death anniversary.
