Islamabad: A three-day training workshop is underway at the Pakistan Broadcasting Academy, Islamabad, designed to groom newly inducted newsreaders and enhance their professional capabilities.
According to Radio Pakistan, the workshop aims to strengthen presentation skills, editorial understanding, and ethical standards among the participants. During the opening session, Director General Radio Pakistan Saeed Ahmed Shaikh delivered a lecture focusing on the enlightened and responsible role of newsreaders. He emphasized that newsreaders must remain fully updated on daily current affairs to ensure accuracy and confidence in news delivery.
The Director General informed the participants that when news scripts appear as a "seen affair" rather than unfamiliar material, the chances of on-air mistakes are reduced to the minimum possible extent. He further said professional excellence in news presentation depends not only on voice quality and pronunciation but also on awareness, background knowledge, and understanding of national and international developments.
He remarked that preparation is the strongest safeguard against errors and a key factor in building credibility with audiences. The participants described the session as highly informative and beneficial at the start of the training program.
