Three Arrested for Impersonating Police Officers in Islamabad


Islamabad: Three individuals have been arrested for impersonating police officers, as part of a gang operation, and a kidnapped person has been rescued. The authorities have also confiscated a stolen vehicle, police uniforms, handcuffs, wireless sets, weapons with ammunition, and the vehicle used in the crime from the suspects.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, the successful operation was conducted by the Bani Gala Police team under the special directive of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq. The DIG has instructed police units throughout the capital to take decisive action against criminal elements to ensure peace and order in the federal capital.



The police utilized both technical and human intelligence to track down and arrest the suspects, who had been impersonating law enforcement officers. The individuals taken into custody have been identified as Khalid Mahmood, Muhammad Zafar, and Jameel Ahmed.



During the raid, the abducted individual was safely recovered, and the stolen vehicle along with police equipment, handcuffs, weapons with ammunition, and the car utilized in the kidnapping were confiscated. A case has been filed against the accused, and further investigations are being carried out to ascertain their involvement in other criminal activities.



DIG Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, reiterated the commitment of the Islamabad Police to transforming the capital into a peaceful city and expressed that no effort will be spared in safeguarding the lives and property of the citizens. He also urged the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to their local police stations or through the emergency helpline ‘Pucar-15,’ to collectively work towards the complete elimination of crime from the city.
