Islamabad: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has stated that terrorist attacks in Pakistan are the result of a proxy war waged by India in cooperation with the Taliban government in Kabul.
According to Radio Pakistan, Asif made these remarks during an interview with FRANCE 24, where he discussed the security situation in Pakistan. He emphasized the role of external forces in the destabilization of the region, highlighting the complicity between India and the Taliban as a significant factor behind the recent spate of attacks.
When questioned about Pakistan's possible involvement in an international stabilization mission in Gaza, the Defence Minister indicated that Pakistan's participation would be contingent upon the terms of reference drafted for the peace force. He noted Pakistan's extensive experience as a contributor to United Nations peacekeeping operations and suggested that involvement in the Gaza mission could be a valuable opportunity to work towards a two-state solution in the Middle East.
