Tarar Praises Media for Defending National Narrative Amid Indian Ban

Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has commended the Pakistani media for its effective defense and projection of the national narrative, emphasizing its role in maintaining balanced and responsible journalism during challenging times. He discussed these issues with journalists and anchor persons via telephone, addressing the recent Indian decision to block Pakistani journalists’ YouTube channels in India.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister remarked that India imposed the ban to counteract its embarrassment, as its narrative has been unsuccessful on the international stage. Tarar acknowledged the Pakistani media’s patriotism, professionalism, and responsibility in handling the current situation. He assured that the government would provide full support to media institutions and journalists who uphold national dignity, integrity, and the promotion of the national narrative.

Tarar criticized the Indian government’s ban on Pakistani TV channels and YouTube platforms, highlighting it as a violation of international journalism principles. He asserted that such actions cannot obscure facts or conceal Pakistan’s stance from the global community. The Minister also stated that the government intends to voice its opposition to these Indian restrictions at relevant international forums.
