Islamabad: Minister for National Food Security and Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, has reiterated the government’s dedication to creating a supportive environment for small farmers. This commitment aims to improve access to essential services such as veterinary care, feed supplies, financial assistance, and market linkages.
According to Radio Pakistan, these remarks were made during a meeting chaired by Minister Hussain with a delegation from the Livestock and Dairy Development Board in Islamabad. The meeting focused on discussing strategies for the development of the livestock sector.
The Minister highlighted that livestock is not just a part of agriculture but serves as the backbone of rural livelihoods and plays a crucial role in economic resilience. He pointed out that more than eight million rural families in Pakistan depend on livestock as their main source of income.
