Talal Expresses Satisfaction Over NCCIA Performance

Islamabad: Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry has expressed satisfaction over the performance of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Authority (NCCIA) in addressing cybercrime-related incidents. Speaking to the National Assembly during question hour, Chaudhry highlighted the recent appointment of the Director General of the authority and noted that approximately five hundred employees are currently working with the NCCIA. A proposal has also been put forward to recruit additional personnel to strengthen the authority's capacity.

According to Radio Pakistan, Talal Chaudhry further revealed that action has been taken against Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials involved in misconduct, resulting in the dismissal of fifty-one FIA staff members over the past two years. The session also saw the National Assembly passing the "Off the Grid Captive Power Plants Levy Bill," which was moved by Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik.

In response to a Point of Order raised by Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi stated that significant steps are underway to reclaim encroached railway land nationwide. He emphasized the government's commitment to reviving old railway routes, particularly the Rawalpindi-Chakwal Line, to boost tourism.

Addressing a Calling Attention Notice, Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Yousaf assured that comprehensive arrangements have been made in Makkah Mukaramah and Madina Munawwarah to facilitate Pakistani pilgrims, with these arrangements monitored daily.

Additionally, the National Assembly passed a resolution urging the government to take immediate action against India's unilateral decision to hold the Indus Water Treaty in abeyance. The resolution, introduced by Minister for Water Resources Muhammad Mueen Wattoo, condemned the move as a blatant violation of the treaty and an act tantamount to war. The House has now been prorogued.
