Davos: Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb has emphasized the importance of continued collaboration with development partners, including the Asian Development Bank, to unlock Pakistan's growth potential. He was speaking during a meeting with the President of the Asian Development Bank, Masato Kanda, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Finance Minister highlighted improvements in key economic indicators, such as easing inflation, declining policy rates, strengthening foreign exchange reserves, and improved investor sentiment, which reflect renewed confidence in Pakistan's reform trajectory. The ADB President acknowledged that Pakistan is entering an important phase of economic transformation, marked by renewed reform momentum and growing market confidence. He reiterated ADB's support for Pakistan through a close and forward-looking partnership.
The meeting reviewed Pakistan's ongoing economic reforms and discussed ways to further strengthen the long-standing partnership between Pakistan and the ADB. Earlier, the Finance Minister also met with the Chairperson of Menzies Aviation, Hassan El Houry. This meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in the aviation sector, improving airport services, increasing operational efficiency, and exploring investment opportunities in line with Pakistan's reform and privatization agenda.
