Sukkur-Karachi Motorway Project Targets Accelerated Completion

Karachi, Minister for Housing and Works Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada has announced that the government is actively seeking solutions to accelerate the completion of the Sukkur-Karachi Motorway. This effort was communicated during a session in the Upper House of Parliament.

According to Zameen.Com, Mian Riaz Pirzada emphasized the critical need for improved connectivity in the densely populated and agriculturally vital regions of Sindh. The project had faced delays due to economic setbacks spurred by the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused the primary contractor to suspend operations. The government's strategy to fast-track this project involves potential collaborations under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and partnerships with countries like the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada also called on the committee to closely monitor the project's advancement, reaffirming the government's pledge to complete the motorway within the next six months.
