Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has emphasized that a strong agricultural sector is crucial for ensuring food security, sustainable development, and prosperity in Pakistan. In his message on Farmers’ Day, he said concrete steps are essential for the welfare of farmers and ensuring their better access to modern agricultural technology and markets.

According to Radio Pakistan, the President highlighted that water scarcity, climate change, and increasing agricultural costs are major challenges for Pakistani farmers. Asif Ali Zardari noted that agriculture is a source of employment for millions of families in Pakistan and an important pillar of national development.

The President, who hails from an agricultural family, expressed his understanding of the hard work, gains, and difficulties faced by farmers. He lauded the untiring hard work of the farmers of Pakistan on Farmers’ Day, stating that the farmer is the foundation of the country’s economy, food self-reliance, and rural development.
