Special Communication Organization Sets Up 100 IT Centres in AJK & GB

Muzaffarabad: The Special Communication Organization (SCO) has laid the foundation for a digital revolution by establishing one hundred modern IT centres across Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. These centres are offering high-speed internet, modern facilities, and uninterrupted 24-hour power supply.

According to Radio Pakistan, more than four hundred young people are directly benefitting from these initiatives. The freelancing hubs in forty-nine remote areas are creating new avenues for employment and skill development for youth in Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Bhimber, Dadyal, Kotli, Mirpur, Rawalakot, and Hajira.

The SCO has also launched Pakistan’s first women’s software technology park in Muzaffarabad, which is now seen as a symbol of women’s empowerment. In addition, a dedicated freelancing hub and a free special-purpose vehicle for persons with disabilities reflect SCO’s commitment to social inclusion.
