Islamabad: The Sindh government has announced the release of the film 'Mera Layari' in the first week of January 2026 to counter negative propaganda against Lyari depicted in the Indian film 'Dharandhar'. According to Radio Pakistan, Sindh Minister Sharjeel Memon stated that the film will be released internationally. He emphasized that India suffered a humiliating defeat in the war against Pakistan, and it cannot change the outcome of its defeat into a victory through cinematic portrayals. Sharjeel Memon criticized the Indian film 'Dharandhar' for its negative portrayal of Pakistan, particularly the Lyari area. He asserted that Lyari should be recognized not as a symbol of violence but as a representation of culture, peace, capability, and courage.
