Sindh CM Addresses Rising Extortion Threats to Karachi Businessmen


Islamabad: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah chaired a high-level meeting to review the growing issue of extortion and threat calls targeting businessmen in Karachi. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the nature and scale of the threats.



According to Radio Pakistan, in coordination with the federal government, it was decided to issue red warrants for the arrest of those involved, including the ringleader residing abroad. This step is part of a broader strategy to tackle the menace of extortion impacting the business community.



Later, speaking to the media outside the Sindh Assembly in Karachi, the Chief Minister said that members of the Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan have expressed satisfaction over the prompt action taken by law enforcement agencies. The government’s efforts to curb these threats are aimed at ensuring a secure environment for businesses to thrive in the region.
