Sindh Cabinet Approves Rs7 Billion Compensation for Gul Plaza Fire Affectees

Karachi: The Sindh Cabinet has empowered Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners with special magistrate powers to control prices during Ramzan ul Mubarak. The decision was taken at a meeting held in Karachi with Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in the chair. The Chief Minister directed strict implementation of officially fixed prices of daily use items and ordered firm action against hoarders and profiteers.

According to Radio Pakistan, the cabinet approved 8.53 billion rupees for the rehabilitation of roads in Karachi. In addition, seven billion rupees were sanctioned as compensation for the affectees of the Gul Plaza fire incident. The meeting also approved 1.57 billion rupees for the preservation of a historic building on I.I. Chundrigar Road and a 5.20 billion rupees grant for the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
