Senate Chairman, Turkmen President Discuss Bilateral Ties


Ashgabat: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani called on Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedow and exchanged views on matters of mutual interests besides collaboration in various sectors.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Chairman Senate is on an official visit to Turkmenistan along with a delegation of senators. During the meeting, Chairman Senate conveyed greetings from President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, along with his wishes for the welfare of the Turkmen people.



The President of Turkmenistan warmly welcomed Chairman Senate, reciprocating best wishes to the leaders of Pakistan. Expressing confidence in the success of the visit, the President remarked that the tour would stimulate the development of parliamentary relations between the two friendly countries.



The Turkmenistan President emphasized the importance his country places on the development of parliamentary relations with Pakistan, highlighting parliamentary dialogue as a key component in the development of bilateral relations. The Parliamentary Friendship Group, which operates bilaterally, provides opportunities for the exchange of experience in legislative work and the advancement of parliamentary diplomacy.



Both sides agreed that bilateral relations are currently being successfully carried out in political, diplomatic, trade and economic, energy, transport, education, and humanitarian sectors. The countries consistently support each other in international relations.
