Security Forces Thwart Infiltration in Kurram District, 12 Militants Killed

Islamabad:Twelve militants, identified as Khwarij and Afghan Taliban, were killed in a fierce exchange of gunfire with security forces in the Kurram District.

According to Radio Pakistan, the movement of a group of Khwarij attempting to cross the international border from Afghanistan into Pakistan was detected yesterday. The security forces, maintaining a high state of alertness, engaged the militants effectively. During the confrontation, Afghan Taliban posts reportedly opened fire to aid the infiltration attempt by Khwarij. The precise response from the troops resulted in the death of twelve militants.

During the intense firefight, Naib Subedar Hidayat Aman courageously fought and was martyred. The incident highlights Pakistan's concerns regarding the Afghan Taliban Regime's alleged failure to prevent the use of Afghan territory for cross-border terrorism.

The Pakistani security forces remain steadfast in defending the nation's borders. A sanitization operation is underway to eliminate any remaining Indian-sponsored Khwarij in the area.

The ongoing counterterrorism campaign, "Azm e Istehkam," endorsed by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, continues at full pace, aiming to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from Pakistan. The sacrifices of the soldiers underscore their commitment to safeguarding the nation.
