Security Forces Intensifying Counter-Terrorism Operations: NA


Islamabad: The National Assembly was informed today that the security forces are focusing on intelligence-based operations to neutralize terrorists and their facilitators. Minister for Defense Khawaja Muhammad Asif shared with the House during the Question Hour that Pakistan is actively combating terrorist organizations based in Afghanistan, such as Fitnah-al-Khwarij and Daesh.



According to Radio Pakistan, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar addressed the House on the issue of content censorship on television channels, stating that content is not being pre-censored by PEMRA. However, he emphasized the responsibility of channels to adhere to the established code of conduct.



Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar announced the implementation of a technology-based system in the federal capital for solid waste disposal, with the CDA working urgently on this initiative. In response to a calling attention notice, Minister Tarar also highlighted the government’s stringent actions against human trafficking, as directed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He reported 1,638 arrests and 458 convictions of traffickers over the past year, with actions also taken against FIA officials involved with these criminals.



In legislative developments, the National Assembly passed the National Commission on the Status of Women Amendment Bill, 2024, which was moved by Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar.
