Islamabad: Thirty-five Khwarij associated with the Indian Proxy, Fitna al Khwarij, were killed by security forces in two separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province over recent days.
According to Radio Pakistan, an intelligence-based operation was conducted by the Security Forces in Bajaur District. During this operation, troops effectively engaged the Khwarij location. Following an intense exchange of fire, twenty-two Indian-sponsored Khwarij were killed.
In a separate encounter in South Waziristan District, thirteen more Khwarij were neutralized by the security forces. However, during this intense fire exchange, twelve brave soldiers sacrificed their lives and embraced martyrdom. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the Indian-sponsored Khwarij, who were actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in these areas.
Intelligence reports have confirmed the involvement of Afghan Nationals in these acts. The use of Afghan soil against Pakistan by Fitna al Khawarij terrorists remains a significant concern. The ISPR stated that Pakistan expects the Interim Afghan Government to uphold its responsibilities and prevent the use of its soil for terrorist activities against Pakistan.
Sanitization operations are underway to eliminate any remaining Indian-sponsored Khwarij in the area. President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed profound grief over the martyrdom of twelve soldiers in Bajaur and South Waziristan. In a statement, he paid tribute to the courage and sacrifice of the martyrs, noting that their blood strengthens the nation’s resolve to eradicate terrorism.
President Zardari expressed concern over the continued use of Afghan soil by these terrorists and urged the Afghan Interim Government to fulfill its responsibility of ensuring its territory is not used against Pakistan. He reaffirmed that Pakistan will not be bowed by violence and will defeat the Fitna al Khawarij and their sponsors.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif commended security forces for the successful operations against the terrorists of Fitna al Khawarij in Bajaur and South Waziristan. In a statement, he paid homage to the twelve soldiers who embraced martyrdom while confronting the terrorists. Condoling with the bereaved families, the Prime Minister prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs.
He stated that the security forces stand as a solid wall in the war against terrorism and that the entire nation pays tribute to the martyrs. Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed the determination to completely eliminate all forms of terrorism from the country.
