Salik Assures Full Support for Workers, Highlights Reforms and Opportunities


Islamabad: Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, has assured full support for the workers and expressed commitment to addressing their problems. In a recent podcast interview with Radio Pakistan, he paid tribute to the hard work of both male and female workers, emphasizing that it is because of them that the economy continues to move forward.



According to Radio Pakistan, Chaudhry Salik Hussain highlighted that reforms are underway to ensure a safe and healthy working environment, as well as to guarantee proper training for workers. The government is focused on training youth in various skills and ensuring their certification to improve their chances of securing employment opportunities abroad.



He further mentioned that Pakistan has ratified three International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions, which will open up more opportunities for Pakistani workers in Europe and other countries. The Minister also discussed initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of workers, including the operation of eighty-nine hospitals and one hundred and twenty-nine schools under the Workers Welfare Fund. Additionally, he noted the existence of one hundred and sixty colonies providing accommodation to thousands of workers.



The Minister emphasized the need for legislation to ensure strict adherence to the minimum wage, reinforcing the government’s commitment to the welfare and development of the workforce.
