Islamabad: Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf has announced the government’s commitment to ensuring better facilities and safe travel for Zaireen to Iran and Iraq through a transparent system. He made these remarks at a ceremony in Islamabad, where registration certificates were distributed to 67 newly registered Ziyarat Group Organizers (ZGOs).
According to Radio Pakistan, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf highlighted that 24 ZGOs had already been registered in the first phase. He stated that from the following year, pilgrimages to Iran and Iraq would be conducted under this new system. The Minister encouraged other companies to expedite their documentation process to obtain registration certificates.
Furthermore, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf revealed that Sea Keepers, a ferry company, has been granted a license by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs to facilitate sea travel for Zaireen to Iran and Iraq. The list of registered ZGOs is available on the Ministry’s website, with fifty organizers from Punjab, twenty-two from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ten from Sindh, eight from Islamabad, and one from Gilgit.
