Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has announced that reforms have been initiated to transform Pakistan Television (PTV) into a merit-based and profitable organization.

According to Radio Pakistan, during a briefing to the National Assembly committee on Information and Broadcasting in Islamabad, the minister emphasized that the national broadcaster had previously suffered from nepotism, abuse of authority, and corruption.

He further detailed the restructuring efforts concerning PTV World (English) and the Digital Media Department. The introduction of new talent is a key component of these reforms, aimed at boosting both viewership and revenue.
