Islamabad: Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi announced that preparations are underway to outsource eleven additional trains, complementing the nine trains already outsourced. He discussed these plans during a meeting with Advisor to Prime Minister on Political and Public Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, in Islamabad on Thursday.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister disclosed that a decision has been made to outsource railway-operated schools and hospitals as part of their ongoing strategy. An information desk has been established at Rawalpindi Railway Station to ensure passengers receive timely and accurate travel updates.
Abbasi highlighted the positive impact of a contract with the Rawalpindi Waste Management Company, which has significantly improved station cleanliness. The introduction of a modern sanitation system has enhanced the travel environment, providing passengers with a cleaner and more comfortable experience.
Further efforts are being made to enhance passenger facilities, including the repair of train bogies, procurement of new coaches, and the implementation of an advanced tracking system. Abbasi stressed the importance of these improvements for the overall passenger experience.
Rana Sanaullah expressed his appreciation for these initiatives and assured the Ministry of Railways of the full support of the government.
