Railways Minister Inaugurates New OPD Block at RIC


Rawalpindi: Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi inaugurated the newly constructed Outpatient Department block and modern waiting area at the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology today. The new block, constructed at a cost of 400 million rupees, was completed in a record time and is set to benefit over 500 patients daily with quality healthcare services. The modern waiting area provides comfortable facilities for patients and their attendants.



According to Radio Pakistan, during the inaugural ceremony, the Minister referred to the project as a special gift to the public, especially the residents of Rawalpindi, coinciding with Independence Day. He highlighted RIC’s role as a national asset, serving not only Rawalpindi but also patients from all over the country. He mentioned that approximately forty percent of patients at RIC come from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa seeking better medical care.



Muhammad Hanif Abbasi also announced the commencement of kidney and liver transplant procedures this year at the Rawalpindi Institute of Urology. This development is considered a significant milestone in enhancing advanced healthcare services for the public.
