Qatar Calls for Diplomatic Solutions Amid Pakistan-India Tensions


Doha: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Prime Minister of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, in Doha. During the meeting, discussions revolved around enhancing bilateral ties and fostering closer cooperation between Pakistan and Qatar. Regional issues, including Pakistan-India tensions, were also discussed during the meeting.



According to Radio Pakistan, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi apprised the Prime Minister of Qatar of Pakistan’s firm and principled stance regarding recent tensions with India. He said India’s baseless accusations and actions after the Pahalgam incident pose serious threats to regional peace. He said India, under the cover of this incident, has targeted the Indus Waters Treaty, which is vital for Pakistan’s survival. Naqvi emphasized that while Pakistan seeks lasting peace in the region, it will not remain silent in the face of aggression.



The Prime Minister of Qatar stressed the importance of diplomatic efforts to ease tensions between Pakistan and India. He reiterated Qatar’s support for a policy of regional non-confrontation and expressed hope that diplomatic initiatives would help lower tensions. He also sent best wishes to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and commended his efforts in guiding Pakistan’s economy in the right direction.
