Qasim Urges HR Organizations to Take Notice of Atrocities in IIOJK

Islamabad: Chairman Kashmir Committee Rana Qasim Noon has urged human rights organizations to take notice of the Indian atrocities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing a seminar in Islamabad today, he highlighted the similarities between the Kashmir and Gaza issues, emphasizing that India, like Israel, aims to convert the Muslim majority into a minority through demographic engineering.

According to Radio Pakistan, Rana Qasim Noon stated that the Kashmir cause has been internationalized after a long time. He stressed the need for adopting and maintaining a more aggressive policy towards the Kashmir issue. He underscored the importance of international attention and intervention to address the ongoing situation in the region.

In her remarks during the seminar, Pakistan Peoples Party leader Senator Sherry Rehman expressed her concerns about the oppression faced by the people of Kashmir. She described the land as belonging to its people, whose voices have been oppressed for generations. Rehman highlighted the severe human rights violations, noting that children are being slaughtered, blinded with pellet guns, and young students are being taken away under black laws every day in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Sherry Rehman further stated that since 1947, five hundred thousand Kashmiris have been martyred, including two hundred fifty thousand in Jammu alone. She pointed out that 3.5 million Kashmiris have been displaced, while thousands have been arrested since 1989. Rehman also criticized the lack of media access, stating that India is being allowed to bury the story as journalists and others are prohibited from entering the region.
