Islamabad: Relief Commissioner Punjab Nabeel Javed has announced that the distribution of financial assistance to those affected by the recent floods will commence next week. This decision was made during a meeting held in Lahore, where Javed emphasized the importance of completing the survey and financial assistance process within the set timeframe.
According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting focused on reviewing the progress of the Chief Minister Punjab’s Flood Rehabilitation Survey. DG PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia provided a comprehensive briefing on the ongoing survey efforts. The survey has successfully identified over 342,000 acres of flood-affected land.
Javed directed Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners to ensure the continuous supervision and support of the survey teams. The survey is being conducted with the collaboration of Pakistani Army personnel and representatives from the Urban Unit, Revenue Department, Agriculture Department, and Livestock Department. They are carrying out door-to-door surveys to assess the extent of the damage and needs of the affected populations.
