Jhelum: Punjab government has witnessed a major agricultural transformation during the outgoing year. According to a press release issued by the Chief Minister’s Office today, more than eight hundred thousand farmers have been issued Kisan Cards for the first time in the country’s history, providing access to interest-free loans worth two hundred and fifty billion rupees.
According to Radio Pakistan, The Kisan Card scheme has enabled farmers to purchase fertilizers, pesticides, and diesel directly, reducing dependence on middlemen and lowering costs. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said farmers are the backbone of the country and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to making them prosperous and self-reliant.
