Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to grant a monthly stipend to the Imams of 65,000 mosques across the province. The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
According to Radio Pakistan, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz stated that the provincial government will provide financial assistance to Imams for their services. The initiative aims to support the religious leaders in their roles within the community.
In addition to the stipend decision, the Chief Minister approved the establishment of a Cybercrime cell in Punjab. This move is part of a broader effort to tackle digital offenses in the region. Furthermore, Maryam Nawaz ordered strict action against the illegal use of loudspeakers, emphasizing the government’s commitment to maintaining public order and safety.
