Lahore: Punjab government has decided to establish Lahore Authority for Heritage Revival to rehabilitate and preserve all heritage sites in the city.
According to Radio Pakistan, it was decided at a meeting chaired by President of PML N, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in Lahore today. The meeting agreed to remove encroachments from heritage sites and compensate the people affected by this drive.
The meeting was apprised that a total of 115 buildings have been granted the status of historical heritage, and revival work is in progress on 48 buildings.
