Lahore: Punjab government has approved twenty amendments in the Traffic Act to ensure road safety in the province. A meeting presided over by the Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in Lahore also decided that vehicles repeatedly challaned will be auctioned and government vehicles violating rules will also face heavy fines.
According to Radio Pakistan, these amendments aim to enhance road safety measures and ensure stricter compliance with traffic regulations. The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to reducing traffic violations and promoting safer driving practices across Punjab. The decision to auction vehicles with repeated violations marks a significant step towards enforcing the new regulations effectively.
