Lahore: Punjab Minister for Local Government and Community Development Zeeshan Rafique announced that over 365,000 tons of waste was collected across the province during the Eid-ul-Azha days. He stated that as many as 184,000 workers participated in the sanitation efforts under the "Suthra Punjab" initiative. According to Radio Pakistan, Rafique highlighted during a news conference that more than 41,000 citizens reached out to the helpline established for sanitation services. He also noted that operational vehicles traversed over six million kilometers as part of the cleanup campaign. The Minister emphasized that the cleanliness operation during Eid was closely monitored through digital dashboards. He pointed out that "Suthra Punjab" became a trending topic on social media, reflecting the public's engagement with the initiative. Furthermore, Rafique announced a reward of 10,000 rupees for each sanitation worker as a gesture of appreciation for their work in maintaining clean surroundings during the festive period.
