Murree: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Centre in Samli, Murree today.
According to Radio Pakistan, during the inaugural ceremony, she announced that the new facility is equipped with a Cardiac Catheterization Lab and modern medical technologies. She assured that cardiologists and support staff would be present at the centre around the clock to provide uninterrupted care.
The Chief Minister highlighted that this is the first renovation and upgradation of the Syed Muhammad Hussain Government Samli Hospital since its original establishment in 1930. To assist patients traveling between Murree and Samli Hospital, she declared the provision of three dedicated buses.
Expanding on future development plans, she stated that a 100-bed hospital would be built in Kotli Sattian and a 50-bed facility in Bhurban. The rollout of mobile health services, such as “Clinic on Wheels” and “Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics,” was also emphasized as fully operational across Murree.
In terms of infrastructure, she explained the ongoing upgrades to schools and the rehabilitation project for the historic Mall Road, which involves significant financial investment.
In an effort to boost local tourism, she mentioned the establishment of a dedicated tourism force under Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb. Wildlife parks, including Bansra Gali Park, are being restored, and a new biodiversity park will be created to conserve the region’s natural heritage.
Addressing transportation improvements, she announced the launch of a train service between Rawalpindi and Murree and the introduction of fifteen new green buses. These buses will offer free travel for senior citizens, women, and persons with disabilities.
