Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has instructed the relevant authorities to initiate the launch of Pakistan’s first provincial airline, “Air Punjab.”
According to Radio Pakistan, during a meeting held on Saturday in Lahore, which focused on the province’s first airline and bullet train projects, the Chief Minister also gave her in-principle approval for the Lahore-Rawalpindi bullet train project. Maryam Nawaz has directed the procurement of four airbuses on lease for Air Punjab. Initially, the airline will operate domestic flights, with international services expected to commence after one year.
In addition to the airline and bullet train projects, the Chief Minister reviewed the Lahore Yellow Line and Mass Transit Line Gujranwala projects. She was also updated on the progress of the e-taxi initiative, receiving a detailed briefing on the project’s objectives and implementation plans.
