Punjab CM Approves Establishment of Stroke Management Centers

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the establishment of Stroke Management Centers in every district of the province. While presiding over a meeting in Lahore, the Chief Minister directed that a telemedicine project for the immediate treatment of stroke patients should be launched without delay.

According to Radio Pakistan, the doctors at district hospitals will be able to establish direct telephonic contact with specialists and consultants for the prompt treatment of stroke patients. She directed that one doctor and one nurse in each district be provided with immediate three-month training in stroke management.

Additionally, she also mandated the initiation of a nurses' training program for Stroke Management Centers and ordered necessary measures to provide stroke management training to rescuers. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of launching a public awareness campaign for stroke treatment.
