Lahore: Social Safeguard Specialist of the Punjab Urban Land System Enhancement, Malik Waseem Awan, has announced the large-scale division of jointly owned agricultural land across the province under the PULSE project.
According to Radio Pakistan, Malik Waseem Awan highlighted in an interview with correspondent Qasim Bukhari that the PULSE project is crucial in reshaping the management of jointly held agricultural lands. Initially confined to select districts, this initiative has now expanded province-wide to ensure the establishment of a modern and transparent land records system.
Under the PULSE project, the ‘Wanda Karao, Sukh Pao’ campaign has been launched to address boundary and ownership disputes, streamline land transactions and inheritance matters, and enhance land record verification. The initiative aims to facilitate computerized mapping of ‘Khewat’ and ‘Khasra,’ address agricultural issues efficiently, and protect women’s inheritance rights.
Public awareness campaigns, local meetings, and public gatherings are being organized to ensure the success of the joint ‘Khewat’ division process. Malik Waseem Awan emphasized that this system will provide landowners with clear and authentic information about their land.
He also noted that the Parcel Mapping Survey by the Punjab government is progressing successfully, with no fee required for this service. Malik Waseem Awan urged agricultural landowners to take advantage of the free division of joint land.
