PTI Always Supports Anti-State Elements: Aqeel

Islamabad: Minister of State for Law and Justice, Barrister Aqeel Malik, has accused the leadership of PTI and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government of consistently supporting anti-state elements, including Tehreek-e-Taliban and other banned terrorist groups.

According to Radio Pakistan, Barrister Aqeel Malik, in a televised statement on Tuesday, highlighted that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has revealed that incorrect decisions are being made within PTI. He further mentioned that Ali Amin Gandapur identified various factions within the party.

The Minister of State emphasized that while over ninety-thousand people have sacrificed their lives in the fight against terrorism, PTI has always opted for a reconciliation policy rather than enforcing strict actions against terrorist organizations like Tehreek-e-Taliban.

He also pointed out governance issues in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, noting that the province remains a target for terrorists and that there is an absence of state authority. Barrister Aqeel Malik criticized the PTI for its lack of presence at the funerals of the Bannu martyrs, attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and condemned the party’s failure to participate or express condolences.

Barrister Malik accused the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government of not supporting the federal government’s concrete measures against terrorism and its efforts to engage with the Afghan Government, actions which he deemed essential to national interest.
