PSX Investor Base Reaches Record High with Youthful Surge

Karachi:The investor base of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has reached a record high of 681,965, marking a significant increase in public participation within the country's capital markets.

According to Radio Pakistan, Finance Minister's Advisor Khurram Schehzad reported that the PSX saw a record monthly addition of 25,747 investors in October this year, which constitutes a 66 percent increase compared to the previous year.

In a statement shared on social media, Schehzad noted that the stock market attracted 218,894 new investors during the first ten months of 2026. This figure surpasses the total additions recorded over the previous four years. He further highlighted that the total investor base has expanded by 56 percent year-on-year.

Schehzad emphasized that approximately 85 percent of the new investors are from Generation Z and Millennials. This points to a growing interest among younger demographics in Pakistan's capital markets. He attributed the rising investor participation to increased confidence in economic stabilization, improving macroeconomic fundamentals, and the government's policy direction.
