Promoting Meritocracy Top Priority of Govt: Punjab Governor

Bahawalpur: Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan has emphasized that educational institutions in South Punjab are playing a vital role in the country's social, economic, and educational development. During his visit to Government Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur, he stated that promoting meritocracy is a top priority of the government.

According to Radio Pakistan, the governor stressed that harassment in women's institutions is unacceptable and reaffirmed the government's zero-tolerance policy against drug use on campuses. On the occasion, he inaugurated the Arfa Kareem Block at the university.

Later, he visited Islamia University Bahawalpur and participated in the inauguration ceremony marking the university's centenary celebrations. Addressing the event, he described Islamia University as a historic institution that has significantly contributed to the educational advancement of South Punjab. He encouraged students to pursue academic excellence and congratulated the university on completing 100 years of service in the field of education.
