New York:Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and T¼rkiye have assessed the progress in establishing institutional structures like the General Secretariat under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.

According to Radio Pakistan, this assessment occurred during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, and T¼rkiye's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

The Ministers strongly condemned the attacks targeting the Holy City of Makkah and other civilian and economic facilities in Saudi Arabia. They praised the Saudi Armed Forces for their vigilance and reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's right to defend its security, as per Article 51 of the UN Charter.

Plans were also discussed to hold an urgent meeting of the chiefs of staff from the three countries. This meeting aims to explore ways to assist Saudi Arabia under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, which considers an attack on any one of its parties as an attack on all.

Further discussions covered the current regional situation, emphasizing the importance of international law, good neighborliness, mutual respect for state sovereignty, and non-interference in internal affairs. The Ministers highlighted the need to ensure security and freedom of navigation.

They expressed their commitment to achieving sustainable peace and stability in the region, supporting de-escalation efforts, and promoting peaceful resolutions to crises.
