Shanghai: President Asif Ali Zardari has assured global companies of the government’s policy support for new energy vehicles, electric buses, and local production of components. He was in discussions with Yin Tongyue, Chairman of the Board of Chery Holding and Chery Automobile, in Shanghai today.
According to Radio Pakistan, the President expressed gratitude to Mr. Yin Tongyue for his detailed briefing and welcomed Chery Auto’s increasing interest in Pakistan. He acknowledged the company’s plans to introduce electric buses and support localization, emphasizing that these initiatives would create employment opportunities for the youth in the country.
President Zardari encouraged Chery to consider joint ventures in electric buses, mini trucks, green energy solutions, and charging infrastructure. He also pointed out potential collaborations with Pakistani companies in manufacturing, minerals, and energy storage solutions.
Mr. Yin Tongyue provided insights to the President and his delegation regarding Chery Auto’s global operations, its dedication to technological innovation, and its accomplishments in international markets. The President was accompanied by First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Senator Saleem Mandviwalla.
