President Visits Manzoor Wattoo’s Residence to Offer Condolences

Lahore: President Asif Ali Zardari today visited the residence of former Punjab Chief Minister Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo to offer condolences on his passing and express sympathies to the bereaved family.

According to Radio Pakistan, the President met Begum Perveen Wattoo, the children of the late Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo, and other members of the family, conveying his condolences on the sad demise of the late leader. He paid tribute to Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo's political services to the country and the province, noting his roles as Chief Minister of Punjab, Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, and Federal Minister. He highlighted the late leader's contributions to democracy and national unity.

Recalling his longstanding ties with Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo, the President expressed that he shared the family's grief and that his thoughts were with them in this difficult time. He encouraged the children of the late leader to follow in their father's footsteps, play a constructive role in the politics of Punjab and Pakistan, and work towards strengthening the Pakistan Peoples Party in the province.

The President offered Fatiha and prayed for the departed soul's elevation in Jannah. Later, he met party leaders at Wattoo House, discussing organizational matters related to the party and reviewing the current political situation, with a particular focus on the province of Punjab.
