President Underlines Pakistan’s Need for Modern Waste Management Systems


Shanghai: President Asif Ali Zardari has emphasized the urgent need for modern waste management systems in Pakistan, particularly in the Sindh province, and has expressed enthusiasm for potential collaboration with Chinese partners to address this critical issue.



According to Radio Pakistan, President Zardari was in discussions with Mr. Zhu Xiaoping, CEO and Co-founder of SUS Environment Technology Company Limited, in Shanghai. The talks centered on urban waste management, waste-to-energy projects, and integrated treatment solutions, highlighting the areas where Pakistan can benefit from advanced techniques and investments.



Mr. Zhu Xiaoping outlined SUS Environment’s extensive experience in cutting-edge waste treatment technologies and expressed a keen interest in investing in Pakistan’s waste management sector. This potential partnership is seen as a promising step towards addressing the country’s environmental challenges and improving urban waste management infrastructure.



The meeting was attended by notable figures including First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, and Sindh Ministers Sharjeel Inam Memon and Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, reflecting the high level of importance given to this initiative.
